‘Gift wrap to give back’ and volunteer at STEPS Pathways Charity’s gift wrapping station from 25 November – 24 December at the Sunshine Plaza shopping centre.

Individuals and groups are asked to volunteer to wrap gifts for shoppers, with all funds raised through the service being directed to STEPS Pathways College, the only boarding college for young people with a disability and autism of its kind in the world.

Katrina May, STEPS Pathways Charity Manager, said that the volunteer gift wrapping service gives members of the Sunshine Coast community a meaningful opportunity to embrace the Christmas spirit and make a positive difference on behalf of a local charity.

“We are very excited to bring our gift wrapping service to the Sunshine Plaza, which brings together like-minded people to connect with their community and be part of something bigger than themselves,” Ms May said.

“Every gift wrapped helps us create a brighter future for young people with a disability and autism. This is an incredibly rewarding experience that makes a lasting impact, well after families across the coast unwrap their presents on Christmas day, and we invite everyone to join us for a fun and festive time.”

Volunteers will assist with wrapping gifts, tying ribbons and bows, attaching gift tags, helping customers, and keeping the wrapping station organised. No previous experience with gift wrapping or volunteering is required, as training will be provided by STEPS team members.

Flexible volunteering opportunities are available with morning, afternoon and evening shifts, making it easy for individuals and groups to get involved at a time that best suits them.

Those who wish to volunteer are encouraged to register their interest on the ‘Gift wrap to give back’ webpage.
