Our graduates are living proof that with the right support, skills and community behind them, young people with a disability and autism are capable of achieving their goals and living a fulfilling, independent life. From securing employment and moving into their own homes, to forming lasting friendships and finding their place in their own communities, our graduates are out there living a brighter future.
Meet Tom
Tom’s time at STEPS Pathways College helped him build the skills and confidence to live independently and achieve his dreams. Originally from Melbourne, Tom moved to the Sunshine Coast to attend STEPS Pathways College and gained the life skills he needed to return home and thrive. Today, Tom is working two jobs in Melbourne, proudly bowling at Special Olympics, and enjoying life in the home of AFL – his favourite sport!
Meet Alec
After facing long-term health challenges forced Alec to take a backseat in his own life, he arrived on campus feeling nervous and unsure that he could achieve his goals. Today, Alec has transformed inside and out, pursuing active hobbies with enthusiasm and living with two friends from STEPS Pathways College. His journey must be seen to be believed, and STEPS Pathways College couldn’t be more proud of how far Alec’s come.
Meet Courtney
When Courtney first arrived at STEPS Pathways College, she was anxious about her future and wasn’t sure how to connect with others. Today, she is a confident and happy young woman, describing herself as knowledgeable and proud of her achievements. Courtney is working part-time in an administrative role and lives independently, which she says was made possible by the hands-on learning and support at the College.
Meet Luke
Before Luke moved into the STEPS Pathways College campus on the Sunshine Coast, he struggled to form friendships and find his place in the world. In his two years as a boarding student, he has found his voice and formed powerful bonds with his peers. Today, Luke lives with two of his friends from STEPS Pathways College and is pursuing his employment goals. As his stepdad said, “It’s turned our son’s life around.”
